AEGEE-Zagreb is a student organisation that promotes co-operation, communication and integration among young people in Europe. It was founded in Zagreb in 1993 as a part of Europe’s largest interdisciplinary student organisation AEGEE (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l’Europe / European Students’ Forum).
Today, AEGEE-Zagreb has grown into a strongest local in its Network. Currently it counts around 60 members. Throughout years we have successfully organised events on both European and local level, such as: language courses, trainings (project management, event management, time management, public relations, public speaking, etc.), Summer Universities, conferences, celebrations and cultural exchanges. We have hosted hundreds of young Europeans and introduced them to Croatian culture with an emphasis on a Zagreb student life.
One of our main goals is to empower our members, giving them the tools to become the leaders of the future. The knowledge, learning and soft-skills acquired by our members after organizing and participating in a variety of events, conferences and training courses provide the perfect synergies between their formal education and non-formal education.
As a non-governmental, politically independent, secular and non-profit organisation, AEGEE was founded in 1985 in Paris, today AEGEE has grown to a Network of 13000 friends, present in 200 cities in 40 countries all over Europe. AEGEE strives for a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe, which is socially, economically and politically integrated, and values the participation of young people in its construction and development. AEGEE empowers students and young people in Europe to take an active role in society.
