L’Associació Empresarial Química de Tarragona (AEQT) es va constituir l’any 1977 i té com a objectiu representar el conjunt del sector químic. Avui en dia és una entitat vertebrada amb la comunitat, que treballa per ser l’agrupació d’empreses químiques més competitiva del sud d’Europa, liderar un clúster de referència mundial i contribuir al desenvolupament sostenible del territori. Entre l’AEQT i les empreses de serveis (AEST) es generen més de 10.000 llocs de treball directes d’ocupació estable i qualificada, i 30.000 llocs de treball induït. El sector químic, a nivell espanyol, està format per més de 3.000 empreses amb una xifra de negoci de 55.300 milions d’euros i genera l’11% del PIB Industrial amb més de 500.000 llocs de feina directes i indirectes.
The Chemical Business Association of Tarragona (AEQT) was established in 1977 with the objective of representing the entire chemical sector. Nowadays it is an entity acting as the backbone of the community, which works to be the most competitive group of chemical companies in South Europe, to lead a world reference cluster and to contribute to the sustainable development of the territory. More than 10.000 steady, direct and qualified jobs and 30.000 indirect jobs are generated between the AEQT and the companies of services (AEST). In Spain, the chemical sector is formed by more than 3.000 companies with
revenues of 55.300 million Euros and generates 11 % of the Industrial GDP with more than 500.000 direct and
indirect jobs.
