Established in 2017 aequill is an independent perfume house based in East London. Scent offers a tangible insight into the complexity of human emotions, it is probably the nearest form of language that we have to experiencing what another human might be feeling when they are wearing it. Aequill celebrates scent in all it’s artistic manifestations, with an artist-in-residence programme that explores inter-sensory fragrance creation. Bringing together artists working in sound, sculpture, graphic design, fine art and fragrance, the team work closely to create fragrance that expresses the diversity, raw creativity, and unconventionality of the London art scene. With a belief that crossing the boundaries between art and scent provides a stage for personal expression and innovation, Aequill removes fragrance from the classical highbrow and places it unapologetically into the here and now of our favourite capital city.
