About The Schools' Aerospace Careers Programme
The aim of the ACP is to encourage the interest of young people in technology generally and, specifically, provide them with a permanent, UK-wide, careers advisory and support service in respect of the aerospace, space and aviation industries. Each year, in conjunction with Industry, the ACP meets in-person via our UK-wide inter-active presentations, 15 to 18 groups of schools thereby, with one year building on the next, an ever-increasing number of young people become involved. Additionally, the ACP continuously provides them and their schools with regularly updated careers information and practical support digitally. Furthermore, via our ACP Network, they gain an opportunity to meet face-to-face potential industry employers on the latter’s premises. The Network includes all people as they progress their careers - and all companies, organisations and schools - involved in the Programme, everything being free for the young people. The Programme is based on continuous industry research and review, feedback from programme participants, relevant educational requirements, and information from related professional bodies, so as to take account of changing circumstances, opportunities, and forward-thinking. During 2022 we were contacted by over 200,000 young people digitally and presented before 2,000 in-person. The ACP, which is a registered charity (#1190721) and fully compliant with GDPR and Young People Protection legislation, currently has three principal and inter-related elements, with a fourth commencing in 2024, and a fifth in 2025. All can be stand-alone, but together they can provide a service far greater than the sum of its parts. Now see: www.aerospacecareersprogramme.co.uk
