AFIT Logistics & Supply Chain Management

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to offering degree programs that prepare the next generation of defense and industry analysts and leaders, creating cutting edge knowledge that contributes to solving the major problems facing modern society focusing on the defense of that society, responding to the needs of all of our customers and research partners, and providing an environment of rigor and mentorship that fosters academic excellence. Our in-resident Graduate Logistics and Supply Chain Management program is an 18-month degree providing students with the opportunity to learn and exercise state-of-the-art management knowledge and tools to solve defense acquisition and logistics problems. The curriculum includes courses in statistics, operations research, organization and management theory, inventory systems, transportation and strategic mobility, maintenance and production management, financial management, and economics. In addition, students have the opportunity of either pursuing an Operational Logistics, Operational Maintenance, Petroleum Management, Life Cycle Logistics, or Nuclear Logistics Management track. Our faculty also supports the Operations Management portion of the Air Force's Advanced Study of Air Mobility program at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. We bring an in-depth education in operations management, quantitative decision making, and critical thinking skills required to lead the Air Force in the future. Finally, we host Air Force Materiel Command's Enterprise Logistics Executive Capstone Course which provides Air Force senior logistics leaders with an overview of the elements required for implementation of world-class DoD integrated supply chain management.
