About AFLS - Social Aussie Rules Football (USA)
"AF" stands for Australian Football & the S = Social. AFL Social, a modified social version of "Aussie Rules footy", is team sport growing in popularity nationally. AFLS is an organized, low impact / non-contact, social sports game - suitable for anyone regardless of age, gender, size or skill level - able to be played both in community-based and corporate social/team-building settings. It's a game that anyone really can play - AND enjoy! (Originating in this form in Atlanta, Georgia USA, AFLS was first organized by the Atlanta Kookaburras Australian Rules Football Club & has been part of the Atlanta sporting landscape since 1998.) --- AFLS is played 7-9 aside, on a field 75-90 yards in length (normally used for soccer or football) & is 'marked' to take a slightly more oval shape. Co-ed teams are organized locally in 8-12 week "mini seasons" - for midweek after work games & can be purely social group or club based, or business sponsored (also great for promoting health to employees and managers, AFLS providing both a challenge to learn a brand new sport & opportunity to develop team work + leadership skills, with the added bonus of having a ton of fun & meeting new friends & contacts.) Sign up solo as a bold move to meet fun new peeps - or sign up a social &/or company team now ... Teams need only 7 players to play (+we can even help with some seasoned AFLS players to help out with tactics & game skills if you want). Players can sub on/off the field at any time to rest, so a few extras always come in handy. When a team captain signs up team the team receives: * 1 Aussie Rules Football as used in games * 15 high quality T-shirts * 6 games including field hire, drinks + snacks afterward, Fully trained umpires provided as well as pre-game instruction. Team cost is $650/season (up to 15 players). Equipment all provided. No other costs. Crikey! You might even meet some Aussies, meet the love of your life - or even network towards your next big job or client !
