African_Forestry (AF)

• African Forestry (AF) is a professional, non-governmental and non-profit member-based organisation founded in 2016, currently has a total of 13 members nationwide. • It derives its functions and operations from the will of the forestry-related stakeholders and endeavours to fulfil its objectives in the best interest of the public. • AF has a vision of strengthening the private sector, civil society and local communities in an environmental and economically sustainable manner. • AF mission is to work towards the development of forestry industry programs, including fundraising for its programs and execution, which promote responsible forest management in Tanzania and the region. • By lobbying, training and scientific research programs, AF seeks to aid in the development of a conducive policy and institutional and legal framework based on fundamental understanding of the importance of management of forest resources to achieve ‘green growth and economy’ for sustainable development.
