AfriYAN Chapter- Ethiopia

The African Youth and Adolescents Network on Population and Development (AfriYAN) is a youth-led network dedicated to empowering young people across Africa. It will amplify the voices of youth in national and regional development, AfriYAN focuses on issues related to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender equality, youth empowerment, and meaningful participation in decision-making processes. Mission To mobilize and equip African youth with the knowledge, skills, and platforms necessary to influence policies and programs that affect their lives, particularly in the areas of population and development. Vison A transformed Africa where young people are empowered, their rights are respected, and they actively contribute to sustainable development. Core Objectives Advocacy Amplify youth voices in policy dialogues at national, regional, and global levels. Capacity Building Provide training and resources to enhance the leadership skills of young people. Networking Foster collaboration among youth organizations, governments, and international bodies to address challenges facing African youth. Awareness Raising Promote SRHR and gender equality through campaigns, workshops, and educational programs.
