About AFWA Tulsa
The Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance is the home for all women accounting & finance professionals whether new to the field, experienced or considering a career transition. The mission of AFWA is to enable women in all accounting and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional and economic potential and to contribute to the future development of their profession. The Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance was formed as the American Society of Women Accountants in 1938 to increase the opportunities for women in all fields of accounting and finance. Members include partners in national, regional and local CPA firms, financial officers, controllers, academicians, financial analysts and data processing consultants, recent college graduates and women returning to the work force. The majority of our members have attained professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA, and CFP. The Tulsa Chapter was reactivated in 2012 and gives our members the opportunity to develop their leadership skills as we support our community and future accounting and financial professionals. Our chapter members are accounting and financial professionals with a variety of tax, audit, industry and government experience. We have young professionals, mid level professionals and retirees sharing their career experiences.
