About AG-WaMED PRIMA Project

The project “Advancing non conventional water management for innovative climate-resilient water governance in the Mediterranean Area” (AG-WaMED) aims at providing innovative, evidence-based participatory management solutions to water scarcity governance that can be scaled at the Mediterranean level. In particular, the project will tackle the problem of water scarcity by addressing Non Conventional Waters (NCW) (wastewater, runoff water harvesting, desalination) among the available resources to be included in water governance policies. The project deploys a transdisciplinary approach that integrates the state of the art of land, water and agronomic modelling with knowledge co-creation in four Living Labs (LLs) across the Mediterranean region. The Project involves 8 partners and 6 Mediterranean countries: - Università degli Studi di Firenze (Italy) - Politecnico di Milano (Italy) - Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) - Institut des Régions Arides (Tunisia) - Alexandria University (Egypt) - ELGO-DIMITRA (Greece) - Larbi Tebessi University (Algeria) - VU Amsterdam (The Netherlands) AG-WaMED is funded by the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area Programme (PRIMA), an Art.185 initiative supported and funded under Horizon 2020, the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. Grant Agreement Number No. [Italy: 391 del 20/10/2022, Egypt: 45878, Tunisia: 0005874-004-18-2022-3, Greece: ΓΓP21-0474657, Spain: PCI2022-132929, Algeria: N° 04/PRIMA_section 2/2021 ]
