Production company againstallodds (AAO) was formed in 2003 and is run by creative directors Derek Picken, Niklas Rissler and Kevin Grady. They are specialists in CG, 2D and stop-motion animation, illustration and produce commercials, music videos, and digital advertising. In all their work, design, communication and humour are priorities. The creative team works as a collective with in house directors and artists under the AAO banner. The studio is based in Stockholm Sweden and can accommodate upwards of 50 people. AAO's campaign for Tylenol cold and flu remedy (MacLaren McCann, Toronto) in (2005) with animal characters designed with CG fabric textures brought the company worldwide attention amongst the creative community. Since then they have produced award winning campaigns for Coke Zero(Wieden & Kennedy, Amsterdam) including three Cannes Silver Lions (2007) and a Eurobest award (2008) and the award winning campaign for Jet Blue through JWT in New York. In 2011 saw another nomination at Cannes for ‘Smutley’ Aides, a fully cell animated film about a raunchy cat. Over the years againstallodds have worked with brands such as Vimto, Hall’s Naturals, Wendy’s, GIO (Australia), Banamex (Mexico), Uncle Ben’s, King of Shaves, Vodafone, Surf (BBH, London), Target (Australia), Mr. Clean (Toronto), WWF, Bank of America, Mello Yello, the epic `tale of a contour´ for Coca Cola (2014), BBC olympics and finally Loteria which picked up the Grand Prix at cannes in 2016. More recent work includes a christmas campaign for very.com spanning 4years as well as work for It giant Intuit, James wellbelloved, Kellogs, Delsey, Manor toy stores, Mcdonalds and Kemps ice-cream.
