The 2011 amendment of the Austrian Renewable Electricity Law (ÖSG Ökostromgesetz) requests the balancing group coordinator to take responsibility for issuing monthly certifications which identify quantities of biomethane injected into the gas grid. These certificates provide proof for the payment of Feed-in tariffs for the generation of renewable electricity from biomethane fed into the natural gas grid.
