Biofertiliser Certification Scheme

The Biofertiliser Certification Scheme (BCS) provides assurance to consumers, farmers, food producers and retailers that digestate produced from anaerobic digestion is safe for human, animal and plant health. The BCS is the only independent scheme in the UK aligned and providing a framework for independent assessment and certification of digestate to PAS 110 and the Anaerobic Digestate Quality Protocol. The Scheme is run by Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Renewable Energy Association (REA).
