Age UK Sheffield is an independent, local charity. We work toward a city in which no older person lives in poverty or loneliness and where older people live better lives in the best health possible. We aim to deliver our activities through a holistic, person-centred approach, supporting older people to achieve their needs and wants, and empowering them to maintain their independence. Our Activities: > Impartial information and advice services - increasing benefit income is the greatest customer need in this service and takes hundreds of people out of poverty every year. >Independent living co-ordination - helping people live well at home and reduce demand on local health and social care systems. Our team provide holistic support - including help with benefit checks and claims. > Dedicated dementia services, supporting older people and organisations. > A vibrant and creative programme of local activities particularly in the Hillsborough and South-West Sheffield areas > Wellbeing Centres across Sheffield parks bringing people together > Rosemary Cafes supporting people with dementia > Volunteer befriending support to reduce ongoing loneliness > A home support service meeting individual support needs > Supporting voice and representation initiatives for older people in developing local public policy > We also run local Age UK Sheffield charity shops in Abbeydale, Bradway and Broomhill - servicing the community through volunteer opportunities and sustainable shopping Age UK Sheffield operates on our Values of Trust, Care and Choice.
