The Aged Care Association NZ (ACA) is the peak body for the aged residential care sector in New Zealand.
ACA represents over 90 percent of beds in New Zealand’s aged residential care homes across the country.
Our members provide rest home, hospital, dementia and psychogeriatric care, short-term respite care, and care for young people with disabilities.
We are a powerful advocate, working to ensure this important sector gets the recognition and support it needs to provide excellent care for New Zealand’s older people.
We lobby government, provide leadership on issues that impact the aged residential care sector, and produce research, professional development opportunities, information and publications to help our members make informed business decisions.
We also deliver an annual conference, trade exhibition and awards programme, providing members with access to new ideas, information, networking events and a forum to discuss challenges and opportunities.
Thirty four percent of services are operated by publicly listed companies, and the remaining 66 percent are run by religious institutions, charitable trusts, family-owned, not-for-profits, and privately owned facilities.
