Academy for Civic Education

We at Academy for Civic Education (Bulgarian: сдружение „Академия за гражданско образование“) are law students and graduates from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", united by the idea of helping society. Through our work we teach, provoke and encourage people to know and defend their rights and freedoms. We believe that this is the path we must take in order to live with dignity in a more just society. In 2016/2017 the members of two organizations - the "Pravodach" Association and the student community "Theodor Piperkov" Law Club, successfully held the first Academy of Civic Education. The interest towards the Academy was so great that it pushed the idea beyond the activities of both organizations. That is why we, their members, decided to create the “Academy of Civic Education” Association and to continue to develop not only in the capital city of Bulgaria but also around the whole country. What are we doing? Currently, our activities mainly include organizing free civic education courses for students, guest lectures and lessons with high schools and other organizations, shooting informative videos, writing articles, and publishing books. Our goal is... To help you understand why it is important to be active and thinking citizens. By explaining the importance of law, freedom, and democracy, you will better understand the world around us and be ready for the challenges facing modern society.
