Agratam India

Agratam India is a globally recognised social venture that is working in Bihar, India to generate economic value by harnessing the inherent opportunities that exist in rural economies and concurrently generate social value by empowering local communities. Our Founder, Akshay Verma, was personally invited and felicitated by President Obama, at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in 2015, in recognition of our innovative work to bring unproductive waterlogged lands into productive use through fish farming and the large scale impact of our interventions on rural economies - Akshay was the only entrepreneur to receive such recognition by President Obama at this Global Stage. Furthermore, Agratam India's pioneering work is also a case study at the University of Oxford.
