Agri Benchmark

agri benchmark is a global, non-profit network that provides farm-level, data-driven analyses of strategic issues in agriculture. Our work supports decision-makers in policy, farming, and agribusiness by offering internationally comparable insights. The network brings together agricultural economists, advisors, producers, and specialists from key sectors of agricultural and horticultural value chains. Our core competence lies in farm-level economic analysis and international benchmarking. Today, agri benchmark operates across seven branches: Beef and Sheep, Pig, Cash Crops, Horticulture, Organic, Poultry, and Fish. Founded in 2006 as a joint initiative of the Thünen Institute of Farm Economics and the German Agricultural Society (DLG), agri benchmark is headquartered at the Thünen Institute in Braunschweig, Germany. Our global partner network extends to over 40 countries and is coordinated by a team of more than ten economists based in Germany and abroad. Each branch holds an annual international conference, providing a platform for knowledge exchange across the global network. We apply standardized, internationally recognized methods to analyze farms, production systems, and their profitability. This farm-level perspective is enriched by our expertise in global commodity markets and value chains. Interested in joining our network?
