Agro Bio-Tech Research Centre Ltd(ABTEC) is the manufacturers of 100% organic and natural bio fertilizers, bio pesticides and organic manure for home gardens, vegetable gardens, plantations, farms and nurseries. Established in 1993 in Kottayam, Kerala, ABTEC supplies high quality agricultural products suitable for organic farming, thus promoting organic, eco-friendly and sustainable agriculture. Organic farming has gained much relevance in the past few decades as it has been proven that the residues of chemical pesticides in food and drinking water lead to cancer and kidney problems. ABTEC operates with a mission of promoting organic farming and a commitment to conserve nature and protect health. We have a laboratory well equipped for developing new bio products using latest technologies. ABTEC's production unit is the first bio-fertilizer unit in Kerala to get an ISO certification. We also have a well-developed R &D Department led by Technical Director Dr. P. Sivaprasad Msc Ag. PhD, Former Prof.& Head, Dept. of Microbiology and Associate Director of Research, Kerala Agricultural University. We can proudly say that our products have helped many farmers to avoid chemical fertilizers and pesticides completely, substituting them with our bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, bio-control agents and organic manures. ABTEC has received approval and grant from the National Horticulture Mission (NHM) Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India. Our products are also approved by INDOCERT (Organic certification agency) for using in certified organic farming. In the beginning, ABTEC focused on the production of bio-fertilizers such as Azospirillum, Azotobacter, Rhizobium, Phosphobacteria, VAM, PGPR I, Bio-Potash. Subsequently, bio-control agents Trichoderma Sp., Pseudomonas fluorescence, Chitin induced Pseudomonas, PGPR II, Beauvaria bassiana, Bacillus subtilis, Verticillium lecanii, Btk, Paecilomyces, Metarhizium etc. were added.
