The seeds to create a chemical-free herbal brand were sown, thanks to the life story of our co-founder Mini. She suffered from Vitiligo and Alopecia, in a row during her teenage and the conventional treatment for these left her skin in a miserable condition. As a choice, she started staying away from all synthetic and chemical-based cosmetics for her face, and has not used any cosmetics on face for around 28 years now. The treatment for Vitiligo involved direct sunlight exposure to face for around 4 years and it took her years of home remedies to repair that damage. Over a period of time, with a few hits and misses, trying combinations on herself and her unsuspecting family, she came up with these products under the brand aham. Her friends were quite curious about her DIY routines, and wanted to try out the products. In no time, they spread the word among their circles, and the responses from them inspired Mini to start commercially and launch a brand. This is an organic journey, and we have taken baby steps in the direction of reducing chemical invasion on our bodies. At aham, we believe that anything we feed our skin and hair needs to go in mindfully.
