AI2Peat – All-Ireland, AI enhanced Peatland Monitoring Platform – is a project funded by Research Ireland (Future Digital Challenge). Its consortium is composed of CeADAR – Ireland’s centre for AI – iCRAG – the SFI centre in applied geosciences – and NPWS – National Parks and Wildlife Service.
AI2Peat leverages remote sensing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), along with domain expert knowledge from the field, to assess and continually monitor Ireland’s peatlands condition in a structured and resilient manner.
The main output of AI2Peat is PeatSense, a collaborative platform for global peatland condition monitoring and knowledge & data sharing.
