The Alabama Council of The American Institute of Architects (AIA) represents a membership of approximately 600 licensed architects, interns and affiliates. The primary goal of the Council is to promote the quality and practice of architecture. Chartered in 1916, the Alabama Council is a non-profit association. The primary goal of the Alabama Council AIA is to promote unity among the architectural profession in the state. With more than 600 architect and associate architect members, the Alabama Council AIA considers its members to be the lifeline of the organization. Without member support and participation the Council would not be successful; therefore, we pledge to do whatever it takes to serve members in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
