The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) is an independent, nonprofit, student-run organization. We are dedicated to providing programs, information and resources on critical issues of architecture and architectural education. AIAS promotes excellence in education, training and practice; fosters an appreciation of architecture and related disciplines; enriches communities through collaboration; and organizes students to advance the art and science of architecture. We at the American Institute of Architects at the University of Minnesota are dedicated to advancing these issues both nation-wide in collaboration with AIAS-National and around the Twin Cities in collaboration with local entities and organizations.
Our 2021-2022 Mission Statement:
"The American Institute of Architecture Students at the University of Minnesota believes that good design results from the convergence of diverse ideas, beliefs, and world views. By providing professional, academic, and social resources, AIAS-UMN fosters an inclusive environment that not only provides students with opportunities to grow, but also a platform for advocacy and social justice within the wider community."
