AICE Project

Our mission? Simplify the way we detect colon cancer. We are AI-Supported Image Analysis in Large Bowel Camera Capsule Endoscopy (AICE), a brand new digital health project funded by the EU Horizon Programme. AICE is led by a dynamic team of clinical researchers, epidemiologists, data scientists, digital health experts, health economists, ethics researchers, and communication experts to deliver groundbreaking colon cancer diagnostics technology. We’ve wielded industry-leading artificial intelligence to make the clinical pathway more effective for the Camera Capsule Endoscopy (CCE): a small, pill-shaped capsule equipped with a camera that, when swallowed, takes tens of thousands of pictures of your colon to diagnose cancers speed and accuracy. We envision a world where AI is utilized to create high-quality, patient-centered care. With CCE, patients operate on their own terms. Rather than going through an invasive, unpleasant, and sometimes hazardous procedure like traditional colonoscopy, CCE empowers patients to make informed decisions about their health from the comfort of their own home.
