Association for India’s Development is a volunteer movement promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. AID supports grassroots organizations in India and initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as education, livelihoods, natural resources including land, water and energy, agriculture, health, women’s empowerment and social justice. We are an action group committed to making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged!
Started in 1991 by graduate students at the University of Maryland, AID raises awareness on development issues and supports many community development efforts in India. AID currently has 48 volunteer-run chapters across the world, funding more than 365 developmental projects in 18 states in India. The Boise chapter of AID has been active since 2000.
AID has been featured in The Hindu, siliconindia.com and Education Times of India. In 1997, AID received the International History Week Humanitarian Leadership Award.
