The Australian Institute of Health Service Management is an academic Institute within the College of Business and Economics, University of Tasmania. The Institute has partnered with both Federal and State health service organisations to offer outstanding postgraduate training, executive development programs, support executive succession planning, research into health administration and policy, and to act as a think-tank for leaders in both the public and private health sectors. The Institute is guided by an Advisory Board made up of some of the leading executive figures within Australian health care.
The Institute is not a professional association, but its network of alumni is already large and growing as the majority of students are drawn from health services from around the country. We also recognise outstanding individuals as Fellows of the Institute. This is an honour bestowed on few individuals who have significantly shaped health service organisation and administration. Above all else, the Australian Institute of Health Service Management is dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency of health care.
