AIM is an investment research company focused on delivering absolute returns using systematic trading strategies. Our focus lies in the development of quantitative trading strategies with the goal of reducing volatility and drawdowns for investors while maintaining a low correlation to other asset classes.
In 1990 Holger Albers, Founder and Chairman of Supervisory Board of AIM started trading his own managed futures portfolio using a semi-systematic methodology and began developing a proprietary system in 1997. After several years of extensive research, AIM was founded in 2005 and the AIM Classic strategy started trading with initial investments from the founder and some close friends. After establishing a track record, AIM opened its fund to institutional investors in 2008 and continued to grow. Currently AIM is trading over 1000 markets worldwide. The company’s goal is to provide outstanding long-term returns for its investors, to constantly improve these strategies and to provide a high level of service and transparency.
AIM’s philosophy is rooted in the idea that a combination of uncorrelated and independent sources of return will produce superior results over time. Unlike other systematic investment managers who rely exclusively on trend following, our research has enabled us to build portfolios that adopt a multi-asset, multi-strategy approach. For instance, “relative trend-following” (trading trends against each other) continues to be an important research focus at AIM. As a result, our investment programs tend to deliver returns uncorrelated to long-only investments and other hedge fund strategies.
