Aiolos NTUA

Aiolos is a research student team of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). The team is composed of undergraduate students from the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, working collaboratively to design and develop innovative wind energy solutions. Our main focus is the design and construction of a small-scale wind turbine, competing in the International Small Wind Turbine Contest (ISWTC), a global competition promoting sustainable energy solutions. This year, our team is preparing for ISWTC 2025 in Nantes, France, marking our second participation in the contest after our debut at ISWTC 2024, in Delft, Netherlands. Through rigorous research, hands-on prototyping and the challenge of demanding deadlines, our members expand their technical expertise in aerodynamics, electrical systems and renewable energy technologies. We aim to push the boundaries of small wind turbine efficiency, contributing to the development of sustainable energy solutions for the future.
