The General Bernard A. Schriever Los Angeles Chapter 147 was officially chartered
1) to create and sustain a broad acquaintance with the thinkers, planners, and doers of the aerospace fraternity,
2) to support local youth organizations (e.g., AFROTC and AFJROTC) and the community objectives of Space and Missile Systems Center personnel in the surrounding neighborhood,
3) to participate in recognition of achievements of Space and Missile Systems personnel, and
4) to join in convivial activities honoring this prestigious Air Force organization.
These activities include Chapter’s 147 Executive Forum and Salute to Space and Missile Systems Center Awards Banquet, the Executive Reception held in conjunction with the Air Force Ball, and spring and fall Mixers.
The SCHRIEVER EDUCATION FOUNDATION was established on 9 March 1999. The Board is comprised of five Directors, who also serve as the Officers of the General Bernard A. Schriever Los Angeles Chapter 147. Because aerospace education is concerned with communicating knowledge, developing skills, and formulating attitudes about America’s aerospace initiatives and the impact of air and space technologies and systems on American society, the Schriever Education Foundation is dedicated to educating the nation about significant aerospace activities.
