We address the many complexities and challenges involved in the design of these systems and the physical phenomena of optimizing resistance reduction provided by an air lubrication system is very conditional and case specific. On installation, our Airglide AI systems are verified with computational and statistical big data analysis by our industry leading in-house scientists, engineers and programmers. The air bubble lubrication phenomenon cannot be tested in traditional ship model tow tanks. Neither the air bubble formation and shape, which are governed by surface tension among other non-scaling physics, nor the turbulence modifying mechanism by which those bubbles reduce viscous drag within the boundary layer, scale with traditional scale model tow tank testing. Once installed on a ship, measuring the achieved results of an ALS is also very difficult. In collecting performance data, the immense quantity of spurious data readily masks the relevant data.
