After a traffic accident while serving in the Pakistan Armed Forces rendered him a paraplegic at the age of 21, Ajmal Samuel thought he was condemned to a cramped and restricted life, forever to be confined to a wheelchair and denied opportunity.
His road to recovery included dark days of struggle only lit by the love and support of people and institutions that helped him along this journey. That support inspired him to move ahead with his life and career and to transcend the limits of his accident to become an international businessman, a world class athlete in endurance sports including triathlon and rowing and a reputed adventurer. Now it is his time to give back.
Born of this experience, The Ajmal Samuel Foundation (ASF) has been established as a charitable foundation in order to encourage inclusive everyone, able bodied and disabled; serious and amateur; young and old to pursue physical and emotional wellbeing for healthy living.
