Serving a triple market opportunity in fitness, wellness, and medical, we worked with IDEO to create the world's first wearable active compression wrap. It increases blood circulation by producing a massage-like electro-active compression motion.
The product is used for recovery after athletic workouts, to reduce swelling and prevent clotting on plane flights and with pregnant women, to solve poor circulation in the aging, sedentary workers, and diabetics, and to reduce clotting risk in hospitals and home care following surgery.
Hospitals & professional athletes use an older airbag technology at a high cost, in a form-factor that is noisy, uncomfortable, bulky, and tethered to the bed or wall. In contrast, the Akimbo product is silent, portable, comfortable, beautiful, and affordable.
