Akka Project

The Akka Project A cross-cultural initiative where advocacy meets action, raising global citizens through changemaking and connection. Rooted in the belief that shared experience fosters empathy, leadership, and lifelong learning, the Akka Project takes mothers and teens from Australia to Bangalore, India to engage in immersive volunteering alongside local communities. Through storytelling, play-based learning, and community-led service, participants develop a deeper understanding of global citizenship while contributing meaningfully to educational programs run by the Parikrma Humanity Foundation. Akka means “big sister” in many South Indian languages, a name that captures the essence of what we stand for: connection, care, and courage.
