Akron Children's Foundation was established to add breadth and depth to our hospital’s capabilities in health care, medical research and education.
The Foundation not only oversees the solicitation of funds and gifts from individuals and groups, but manages, invests and disburses them in the best interest of the hospital.
Akron Children's Foundation also supports efforts to expand public awareness of our hospital and its role as a regional medical center for children, as well as for burn victims of all ages.
The Foundation manages more than 60 special funds to which donors may designate their gifts.
We raise funds through programs and activities on behalf of the hospital, including special events, the annual fund and planned giving.
Since 1971, the Foundation has raised millions of dollars to help Akron Children's provide patients and their families with the highest-quality health care. The Foundation has made it possible for our hospital to acquire state-of-the-art medical equipment, while also supporting important research and medical education programs.
The Foundation engages top corporate leaders, community volunteers and advocates who partner to carry the hospital’s message throughout the communities we serve.
The Akron Children's Foundation has been instrumental in helping our hospital assume a leading role in the health care of our nation's children.
