Alan Oh - Consultant Counseling Psychologist

Alan Oh is a counseling psychologist. He is registered with the Board of Counsellors (Malaysia) and a clinical member of the Malaysian Marriage and Family Therapy Association. He is a consultant at Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu. He provides consultation, behavioral health screening and assessment, counseling and therapy services to adults, elders, adolescents and children in the following formats - individual, group, family, couple or a combination of these formats based on patient and client needs. He had facilitated clients and patients to recover from poor mental, behavioral and relationship health owing to depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, personality disorders, risky and aggressive behaviors, self-harm, process and substance addiction, relationship and psychological traumas, separation, grief and loss. He had also counseled individuals such as adolescents and young adults in dealing with the psychological and relationship trauma of bullying and abuse, and behaviors related to developmental issues. His clients and patients also include those who are undergoing medical treatment and referred by their physicians for psychological interventions, counseling and therapy to enhance treatment compliance and recovery. He had trained many employees, and community leaders in counseling skills. He had also held workshops for organizations leaders and employees. He was trained to carry out marriage and relationship seminars to couples using the Introduction to PREP model. He is actively including 3D modeling using Lego bricks into therapy to help clients who may benefit from non-verbal and creative expressions. He is also promoting psychological first aid as a skill for all community members
