The family-owned business was founded in 1972 when Felix Meliksetyan invented the recipe for the well-known grape aged vodka. The finest blend of Mskhali, Kakhet, Voskehat, Chilar, and Garan Dmak grapes create the finest taste of our spirit while oak aging enhances the aromas and aftertaste. On par with that, he led the first department of Winemaking in Armenia, dedicating his all life to the improvement and teaching of it.
Bringing up his son, Arsen Meliksetyan, he transcended his love of agriculture and enology. Later in 2016, the beverage-manufacturing company was founded. Numerous scientific experiments led to the invention of a one-of-a-kind distillation process, that refined the taste and the smell of a final product.
The Alaya Vodka brand was created in 2022 by the daughter, Diana Meliksetyan, with the intent to make local production and her family's heritage renowned worldwide.
The brand was created out of the demand for a more feminine and aesthetic approach to a vodka brand. Alaya now is enjoyed in the best bars and restaurants by the real spirit connoisseurs.
