ALBANA

Albana is a project that collaborates with artisans in the design and curation of objects, preserving the tradition of pottery craftsmanship from indigenous communities in different regions of the country. We maintain as a premise the respect for the process of working with clay, from its extraction to its firing. Honoring the variations and “imperfections” of our products, understanding them as inherent to artisanal production. Unlike industrialized processes, artisanal and traditional work uses raw materials from their places of origin in production. The clay used for crafting objects is extracted from the same region where they are made. Preserving the characteristics of the various techniques we work with, in dialogue with the artisans, we design pieces that also suit contemporary architectural spaces. The design of these objects stems from the search for new silhouettes for Albana’s collections or as part of special projects focused on interior design, thereby generating the creation of unique pieces suitable for the concept of each project.
