Located in the Li Ka Shing Centre at the University of Alberta, Alberta Cell Therapy Manufacturing (ACTM) is a cutting-edge 10,000 sq. ft. GMP cleanroom facility designed to support innovation in cell therapy and aseptic fill finish. Our facility features six validated cleanrooms, an advanced Quality Control laboratory, and state-of-the-art equipment, all maintained by a dedicated team committed to delivering the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). As a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), ACTM provides comprehensive services to help translate groundbreaking research into impactful therapies. Our Process Development team ensures efficient and cost-effective translation of processes from bench to bedside. We specialize in cell culture and expansion using a variety of systems, including flasks, bags, bioreactors, and automated platforms like CliniMACS Prodigy. This flexibility allows us to support adherent or suspension cells, allogeneic or autologous therapies, and cell banking. ACTM also offers Aseptic Fill Finish services, enabling the filling of vials with Bulk Drug Substance shipped to us from anywhere in the world. We currently provide manual and semi-automatic filling, and construction will begin in summer 2025 for the installation of an automated robotic Fill Finish line.
