We stand for fiscal responsibility—understanding our tax dollars aren’t unlimited and need to be spent wisely on important public services. We believe that Alberta is at its best when our fierce entrepreneurial spirit is being nurtured—not stifled—by government. We protect human rights, value diversity and welcome everyone to the table. Alberta Party Leader: Barry Morishita served as a Councillor and Mayor of the City of Brooks from 2016-2021 and was elected Leader of the Alberta Party by the Board of Directors in August of 2021. Morishita also served as President of the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (now Alberta Municipalities) from 2017-2021 before stepping down from the role to successfully seek the leadership of the Alberta Party.
