Two days after returning from his Honeymoon, on August 2nd, 2012, our CEO Sean Bennick suffered a Stroke. The damage from the stroke caused Hemiplegic Migraines, seizures, significant memory loss, and other health issues. In December 2014 as he was starting to recover he had a Heart Attack.
His health issues put him in the ER every other week.
During his trips to the Emergency Room, Paramedics would ask questions he couldn’t answer. After a seizure, he was often unable to remember my birthday or phone number, so answering questions about his Medical History was impossible.
After trying numerous bracelets, apps, and wallet cards, he realized nothing had enough room for all his information. The information on those products also wasn’t organized.
So he built his own.
AlertCard is an Online Personal Health Record built for Medical Emergencies.
The system takes your information and organizes it, moving critical items to the top and highlighting them so First Responders and ER Staff can find what they need when they need it no matter where you are.
During our alpha test the system saved two lives, including our CEOs.
In Denver, 1300 miles from home he had a 15-minute seizure. He was scared, alone, and didn’t know the address where I was. He called Co Founder Derek Wood, who sped to the Hospital with Sean’s AlertCard.
It kept the Doctors from giving him medication which could have put his life in danger.
The system comes with an NFC & QR enabled silicone bracelet that links to your online profile, two WalletCards, and two InfoSheets, one for your home and one for your car. The WalletCards and InfoSheets are printed on a waterproof, tear-proof, antimicrobial paper
