Aletheia specialises in the design, fabrication and analysis of spatial targets for industrial X-ray Computed Tomography (XCT). From high resolution (mm scale) to large scale (1-2 m sized panels), Aletheia can provide industrial Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) solutions. Aletheia's 3D targets enable the comprehensive analysis of parts critical to mission success across aerospace, automotive and nuclear industries. Our design philosophy exploits the fundamental principles determining image quality metrics, such as spatial resolution and measurement confidence. Fabricated from the same material, with a shape profile and density matched to that of parts and components of interest, our solution produces an accurate evaluation of an X-ray CT scan setup. The sophisticated nature of the targets allows them to be used to understand how parameters such as projection number, radiograph quality, reconstruction code and component material interact to affect the measurement confidence in the reconstructed volume. This allows the targets to be used to optimise X-ray CT scan settings for image quality or time, with reproducible numerical information which can be used for quality checking and instrument calibration. It is only when the targets are used in combination with our powerful software is the potential of this X-ray CT calibration system fully realised, in particular the characterisation of powders and the porosity/impurities in additively manufactured (AM)/3D printed components.
