Alfa Laval CorHex design and manufacture the compact ultra-high pressure 1000+ barg (14,500 psig) diffusion bonded Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger (PCHE) across three sites. Engineering in South Korea and Canada, and manufacturing in South Korea and Italy.
The technology we use today was developed in 2005 by CorHex in South Korea. CorHex was acquired by Alfa Laval almost a decade later, becoming Alfa Laval CorHex Ltd.

Diffusion bonding or diffusion welding is a solid-state welding technique used in metalworking, capable of joining similar and dissimilar metals. The technology was industrialized in the USA during the 1970s for off-planet aerospace programmes, and then later in the EU during the 1980s for on-planet marine based applications in the Energy market, and now in South Korea during the 2000s.
