Alkan Shayan Chem. (ASC) Company was established at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences Pharmaceutical Incubators in 2019, focusing on the production of standards and pharmaceutical impurities to cooperate with the pharmaceutical industry. The presence of small amounts of drug impurities can cause adverse pharmacological effects or even toxic effects in the patients. The main source of the formation of drug impurities is the formation of by-products due to adverse chemical reactions in various stages of production of the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The impurities can be also produced by the partial decomposition of the APIs by environmental factors such as temperature, light, oxygen, and moisture. Therefore, elucidation of the structure of the drug and ensuring its high purity along with the absence of related drug impurities in the APIs is essential in drug product development. The purpose of establishing Alkan Shayan Chem. Company was to produce pharmaceutical standards and pharmaceutical impurities (Medicinal Related Compounds or Impurities) with the highest quality which is competitive with the corresponding USP standard. The company having the license from Iran Food and Drug Administration, provides desired compounds in high purity within a short time from registering order until delivery.
