Allnet Communication Services

Allnet Communication Services, aka ALC Communication Corp., was the company formed by the merger of Lexitel Corporation, Birmingham MI, and Allnet Communication Services Inc, Chicago, IL. Lexitel, which offered the MAX long distance service, was founded in 1980. In 1986, the newly merged company was the fourth-largest long-distance carrier after AT&T, MCI and Sprint. The company was sold in 1995, and the Allnet trademark expired in 1997. As a former IT employee working there in my mid-20s, I was a huge fan of the company and have created this page as a memorial of sorts.
