Research group based at the University of Manchester, led by Dr Jessica Boland. Our research focuses on the use of terahertz spectroscopy and microscopy for non-destructive material characterisation from the macroscale down to nanometre length scales. We use this pioneering techniques to investigate the optical and electronic properties of novel nanomaterials, namely III-V and II-VI nanowires and topological quantum materials, with the aim of harnessing their potential for development of terahertz devices.
