Alpha Team of Formula SAE

The Alpha Team is an university extensions with the objective to project and build a prototype of Formula SAE to national and international competitions. Our mission is to promote the personal and professional growth of the students through differentiated learning, in order to train excellent professional to the society. Our values is interdisciplinarity, teamwork, stimulation of learning and passion for engineering. The team is divided into two sectors: project and administrative. The project sector is divided into 6 systems: 1. Engine: responsible for deciding which engine to use; design motor inlet, exhaust system and cooling; give the essential data to program the injection. 2. Instrumentation and control: responsible for all electronic parts of the car; stores and studies data received from sensors and actuators, and displays the most important data for the pilot on the dashboard; responsible for programming the injection. 3. Structure: responsible for the construction of the chassis, based on the need of each sector, and the elements of protection of the pilot. 4. Suspension: responsible for all suspension and steering of the car. 5. Brake: responsible for all car brake system and pilot's ergonomics. 6. Transmission: responsible for transmitting the torque of the engine to the wheels in the most efficient way. The administrative sector is divided into 3 sectors: 1. Financial: responsible for all financial movement of the team. 2. Marketing: responsible for internal and external team marketing; search and contact sponsorshipers and supporters. 3. Management and Logistics: responsible for the management of team members; make memorandums; organe the workplace and preparing what is necessary for the trip to the competition.
