The Vorotek O Scope is a head-worn microscope with bright LED lighting.
The uniqueness of the O Scope is that it brings your pupils together (reduces your IPD) in such a way that you can look with both eyes into narrow cavities with sharpness and depth.
It is a great innovation for the ENT specialist, the audiologist and General Practitioner alike. ENT specialists describe it as an essential complement to the capital intensive and immobile operating microscope. And audiologists as an extension to their toolkit allowing them to perform procedures not possible with loupe glasses.
The area in which the O Scope offers sharp vision is about 10 cm long (compared with the operation microscope which has appr. 2 cm).
The advantages summarised:
- Flexibility: ENT treatments no longer depend on the fixed location of the surgical microscope
- Ease of treatment: in case of patients with difficulty sitting still such as children or in case of patients who are bedridden
- Speed of treatment: it takes less significantly less time as it does not require time to set up the patient

- Less capital required: the O Scope is only a fraction of the cost compared with an operating microscope
In Australia has been the standard of care for ENT specialists for years now and 95% of ENT doctors and a majority of audiologists use the O Scope. In the US and the UK, the O Scope has been introduced in recent years and is increasingly finding a place next to the operation microscope and magnifying glasses.
Within the EU and wider continental Europe we have just started onboarding the first ENT surgeons, audiologists and GP centers.
