Asian Law Students' Society - University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law

The Asian Law Students' Society at the University of Ottawa believes in defying stereotypes and celebrating the many successes and accomplishments of our members and our community at large. Our goal is to help law students deal with the challenges facing equity-seeking groups and seek mentoring relationships with pan-Asian professionals in the field. We have a diverse team. As friends and colleagues, it is our dedication to one another in our law school and the legal profession that sets us apart. We aim to: - Offer support and channels of solidarity throughout law school to law students in all years; - Provide networking opportunities with pan-Asian professionals working in law; - Raise awareness of issues facing the pan-Asian community and speak out about diversity issues; - Collaborate with other equity-seeking groups to raise awareness and plan joint-events. We pride ourselves on being an open, relaxed, and flexible club at the law school. The ALSS is not just a club for Asian students but a club for students of every ethnicity and background who are interested in Asian culture and issues. We value all of our members equally! Our aim is to provide a social, academic and professional foundation for law students by organizing and hosting events, talks and panels.
