Alter-Places

Alter-Places is a cooperative project, which explores the value and contribution of sustainable practices implemented by Alternative Cultural Places (ACPs) in the development of green, fair, diverse urban ecosystems. The project extends over 2024-2025 and offers a diverse program. In the first row, a survey on innovative sustainable practices in ACPs will be led by LabEx ICCA (France) and Alter-Places will take part in the program of the Trans Europe Halles 97 conference at Tartu (Estonia) in May 2024. Then, from September 2024, 3 workshops will be organised at NGBG (Malmö), Mochvara - CDA (Zagreb) and Urban Spree (Berlin), to exchange about each member's sustainable practices and create sustainable prototypes. In the last part of the project, the project's results and survey will be presented at La Station Gare des Mines (Paris) in April 2025 and then disseminated to other cultural actors and to researchers, policy makers and civil societies. Alter-Places brings together 5 “Alternative Culture Places” across Europe : La Station Gare des Mines in Paris (France), Culture Development Association “CDA” - in Zagreb (Croatia), Izolyatsia platform (Ukraine), Urban Spree - Berlin (Germany), NGBG - Malmö (Sweden). The research Laboratory LabEX ICCA (France), the European Network Trans Europe Halles and the international expert Long Winter (Canada), complete the consortium. This project is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
