Alternative Peru promotes sustainable and responsible tourism that really benefits the local population and visitors. That is why we focus on alternative destinations that do not receive many or any tourists as well as off-the-beaten-path tours in more touristic places. Alternative Peru tours range from responsible and alternative day-tours in Lima and Cusco that focus on local culture and meeting locals to customized tours of Peru with traditional and alternative destinations and experiences. Alternative Peru also develops customized cultural immersion, educational and responsible volunteering experiences for individuals, small groups and larger groups. This fits within our educational mission to show visitors a different and very authentic side of Peru and its many local cultures. Our ultimate aim is reciprocal learning between locals and visitors from which both benefit.
